Travel Blackboard: Airline menus – the healthiest and the fattiest

Maintaining your diet and health shouldn’t be too hard while travelling, that’s if you choose the right airline, according to a new study.

The 2012 Airlines Food Survey rating by dietdetective.com found that of the 12 airline menus studied, Virgin America is “off the charts” when it comes to nutritional foods, offering meals and snacks that “fill you up and help you avoid the junk”.

The airline’s nut snacks, PopChips and Protein Meal Box pushed the carrier to the top of the food chain, winning the top spot with the “healthiest” food choices in the sky.
